Smartsuvc Mobile Application

  1.  INTRODUCTION

This Smartsuvc Privacy Policy explains how we use the personal information which you provide to us when using the Smartsuvc Mobile Application (“the Application”).

Please read this Privacy Policy before using our product and services.

Downloading, accessing, or otherwise using the Application indicates that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy and consent to its terms. If you do not consent to the terms of this Privacy Policy, please do not proceed to download, access, or otherwise use the Application.

In this Privacy Policy, “Personal Data” means information that can be used to identify an individual, either from that information alone, or from that information and other information we have access to about that individual. “Smart Devices” refers to those nonstandard computing devices produced or manufactured by hardware manufacturers, with human-machine interface and the ability to transmit data that connect wirelessly to a network, including our Smartsuvc Device. The Smartsuvc Application refers to the mobile application developed by us that provide end users remote control access to various compatible Smart Devices.

  1. COLLECTION OF PERSONAL DATA

In order to provide our services to you, we will ask you to provide the necessary Personal Data required for the provision of such services. If you do not provide your Personal Data, we may not be able to provide you with our product or services:

  • Information that is voluntarily provided to us by you:
    • Account or Profile Data: When you register an account with us, we may collect your name and contact details, including but not limited to your email address, phone number, user name and login credentials. During your interaction with our Application, we may further collect your nickname, profile picture, country code, language preference or time zone information etc.
    • Feedback: When using feedback and suggestion features in our Application, we will collect your email address, mobile number and your feedback content to address your problems and solve device failures on a timely basis.
  • Information that we collect automatically:
    • Device information: When you interact with our Application, we automatically collect device information, such as the MAC address of your devices, IP address, wireless connection information, operating system type and version, application version number, push notification identifier, log files and mobile network information.
    • Usage Data: During your interaction with our Application, we automatically collect usage data relating to visits, clicks, downloads, messages sent/received, and other usage of our Application.
    • Log Information: When you use our Application, the system and exception log may be uploaded.
    • Location Information: We may collect information about your real-time precise or non-precise geo-location when you use our Application or Services
  • Smart Device information:
    • Basic Information of Smart Devices: When you connect your Smart Devices with our Products or Services, we may collect basic information about your Smart Devices such as the device name, device ID, online status, activation time, firmware version and upgrade information etc.
    • Information reported by Smart Devices: Depending on the different Smart Devices you elect to connect with our Application, we may collect different information reported by your Smart Devices.
  1. USE OF DATA

We may use your personal data for any or all of the following purposes:

  • Performing obligations in the course of or in connection with our provision of the Application and/or services requested by you;
  • Verifying your identity;
  • Responding to, handling, and processing queries, requests, applications, complaints and feedback from you;
  • Sending your marketing information about our Application or services including notifying you of our marketing events, initiatives and promotions, membership and rewards schemes and other promotions;
  • Complying with any applicable laws, regulations, codes of practice, guidelines or rules or to assist in law enforcement and investigations conducted by any governmental or regulatory authority;
  • Any other purposes for which you have provided the information;
  • Transmitting to third parties including our third party service providers and agents, and relevant governmental and/or regulatory authorities for the aforementioned purposes; and
  • Any other incidental business purposes in connection with the above.
  1. DISCLOSURE OF DATA

We may disclose your personal data:

  • Where such disclosure is required for performing obligations in the course of or in connection with our provision of the Application or services requested by you; or
  • To third party service providers, agents and other organisations we have engaged to perform any of the functions required for the provision of the Application or services requested by you.

The purposes listed in the above clauses may continue to apply even in situations where your relationship with us (for example, pursuant to a contract) has been terminated or altered in any way, for a reasonable period thereafter (including, where applicable, a period to enable us to enforce our rights under any contract with you).

  • To an affiliate or other third party in the event of any reorganization, merger, sale, joint venture, assignment, transfer or other disposition of all or any portion of our business, assets or stock (including without limitation in connection with any bankruptcy or similar proceedings). In such an event, we reserve the right to transfer or assign your Personal Data in connection with the foregoing event.
  1. WITHDRAWAL OF CONSENT
  • The consent that you provide for the collection, use and disclosure of your personal data will remain valid until such time it is being withdrawn by you in writing. You may withdraw consent and request us to stop using and/or disclosing your personal data for any or all the purposes listed above by emailing your request to support@smartsuvc.com
  • Whilst we respect your decision to withdraw your consent, please note that depending on the nature and scope of your request, we may not be in a position to continue providing our Application or services to you through our Application.
  • Please note that withdrawing consent does not affect our right to continue to collect, use and disclose personal data where such collection, use and disclosure without consent is permitted or required under applicable laws.

6. PROTECTION OF PERSONAL DATA

  • To safeguard your personal data from unauthorised access, collection, use, disclosure, copying, modification, disposal or similar risks., we use commercially reasonable physical, administrative and technical safeguards to preserve the integrity and security of your Personal Data.
  • You should be aware, however, that no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure. We do not guarantee 100% security of your Personal Data. While security cannot be guaranteed, we strive to protect the security of your information.

7. RETENTION OF PERSONAL DATA

  • We may retain your personal data for as long as it is necessary to fulfil the purpose for which it was collected, or as required or permitted by applicable laws.
  • We will cease to retain your personal data, as soon as it is reasonable to assume that such retention no longer serves the purpose for which the personal data was collected, and is no longer necessary for legal or business purposes.

8. TRANSFER OF PERSONAL DATA OUTSIDE OF JURISDICTION

  • To facilitate our provision of Application and services, we may transfer, store and process your Personal Data in jurisdictions other than the one where the Personal Data was provided to us. Laws in these countries may differ from laws applicable to your country of residence. You give us consent to process such information worldwide, both directly and through any third party service providers working on our behalf.

9. CHANGES IN PRIVACY POLICY

We may update and change our Privacy Policy from time to time by posting the new Privacy Policy in this page and are effective from the date on which they are posted.

By downloading, accessing or otherwise using this App after any changes to this Privacy Policy, you indicate that you have read the updated Privacy Policy and agree to its terms and be bound by the revised Privacy Policy
